    I also would like Labour to be more leftwing, but unless a plurality of people in the country want that, it can’t and shouldn’t happen. The very second you say ‘I’m leftwing’ (or, indeed, ‘I’m rightwing’ or any other such label), you’re also by definition saying ‘Most people disagree with me’. But that’s fine! Decent, intelligent people disagree all the time. There’s no particular reason to think that you and I are correct to be leftwing. The whole point of democratic politics is to find a way to get millions of people who disagree with each other on roughly the same page.

    As I’ve said before, Labour are going to implement leftwing politics in power (again: green investment; planning reform; workers’ rights). We have the status quo, with no leftwing policies, or an opportunity to get some left wing policies. It is obvious that we should take that opportunity and vote Labour.
