I’ve got two kids and it feels like at least two of the four of us has had a cold going back to mid-december.

I’ve had this cough thing for the last few days, figured I was over the worst of it…until I woke up this morning with a horrifically blocked nose; been sneezing and blowing my nose since. Will it ever end?

The science behind long COVID is still being established, be wary of hysteria and blaming everything on COVID.

Yup. Have put it down to the kids being at nursery and bringing back every cough and sniffle. It’s wrecked my wife’s sleeping because we’ve a baby who wants to feed when he’s feeling under the weather and he’s had a cold for what feels like weeks.

I hate to say it, but I find myself mentally preparing to be unwell a few days after visiting friends with kids.
It’s always a nice surprise when I’m proven wrong.

Based on these comments it’s absolutely Long-Covid. I mean, I’ve never had COVID before, and I’ve got two very young children who spread disease like you wouldn’t believe…but it’s definitely Long-Covid.

Have you considered allergies? I had what I thought was a long running cold that caused congestion and coughing. In the end it turned out I had a dust mite allergy. This could be especially likely if your symptoms get worse at night.

I find I get stuffy during autumn and I think it might be related to fungus. It’s when things get a bit cold and damp. This winter has been like a long autumn and I’ve been sneezing and bunged up pretty much throughout.

I had a really sore throat and headache about 3 days ago. Got tested for strep throat, covid, and flu a & b. All negative. Still have congestion but no headache and throat is only a little sore. No clue what it is

Not since Christmas, but most of March, and I’ve still got a slight sniffle. There was about a week in the middle of that there I tested positive for Covid, but that’s weeks ago now.

There’s been an uptick in Whooping Cough recently of there has been more coughing than sneezing. It can be treated within the first couple of weeks with antibiotics, but if you missed that window then the infection has already passed and you have the side effects for about 8 weeks.

    Nasty stuff.

Nah I’m fairly sure it’s the fact that I live with two people who spend most of their time sticking their filthy little hands in and onto things that have previously been touched by other, equally as filthy little hands.

      Kids are disgusting.
