I’m glad I’m here, but I do hate that most of my tech questions are answered at the other place when I search.

That’s largely down to the way search engines, especially Google (who now have an AI deal with Reddit, so an incentive to push people there), promote Reddit answers.

Also Lemmy hasn’t been around as long, so doesn’t have the same depth of the knowledge base but it isn’t short on techie users. If you don’t need an instant answer then ask here and you will probably get an answer pretty quickly. Plus you will help expand the depository of answers here.

At least now I can find lemmy posts results on duckduckgo. Before there was only…

Its fucking Discord for me. Why are so many things hosted there???

I was getting into Balatro Modding. The Discord had tons of mods while my usual go-to site was dead.

This is the way. The more we ask and answer here the better for us all.

Same here … but then again, if I need answers to tech questions, I’ll go research content there, don’t interact and figure out my solutions with their information.

Then go on Fediverse to talk to people and interact with the world.
