    I can’t make sense of this article. So did the ship actually enter UK waters, or was it just close to entering them and it spooked us?

    So far, the ship has complied with international rules of navigation

    All I’m getting from this is “a Russian ship sailed in international waters but near to the UK, and we think they’re doing something sinister but they didn’t break any rules so we can’t do shit”

      Basically it followed international law but entered our exclusive economic zone which isn’t owned by the country but means we have the rights to the resources in that area or zone. Usually an exclusive zone economic zone extends 200 nautical miles from the country’s land. Mostly if a hostile military ship enters an area of interest they’ll be monitored closely.
