Good.
In a social media post on Wednesday afternoon, Fox said the media was “obsessed” with cancelling him over the comments.
How about just stop being a scumbag for 5 minutes?
nobody knows who he is, and he sounds like a mental patient. Back under yer rock
Unfortunately, I do know who he is as he, inexplicably, keeps getting shoved under our noses (who invited him.on Question Time needs sacking). He’s a privileged dimwit who has, hopefully, now wrecked any chance of him appearing on all but the most disreputable TV channels and, if GB News stick to their guns, perhaps not even there either.
I think I’ve heard the name before but I’ve never associated it to a particular person. What is he was he some politician at one point or something, why is he relevant?
He’s an actor of the Fox family dynasty of thespians. He was probably best known for marrying Billy Piper and his supporting role in the Morse spin-off Lewis. He spouted some “political correctness gone mad” nonsense, then leveraged the outrage to become a mouthpiece for the usual right wing Culture Wars talking checklist (race, gender, etc) as well as Covid and Brexit. It was enough for him to get into politics but he has lost his deposit every time he has stood.
You know you’re a grade A arsehole when you get suspended by GB News. Wonder if he’ll accuse GB News of being “woke” next lmao.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Dan Wootton has been suspended from GB News following comments made on his show by Laurence Fox, who asked what “self-respecting man” would “climb into bed” with reporter Ava Evans.
It comes after Fox, who also hosts on GB News, was asked about Evans while appearing as a guest on Dan Wootton Tonight on Tuesday.
Evans also said the situation raised questions about allowing Conservative MPs such as Jacob Rees-Mogg and Lee Anderson to host shows on GB News, alongside Fox “who can’t see women apart from the lens of am I going to have sex with them or not”.
Before his suspension, Wootton’s lawyer said that “he remains sincere in his desire to apologise personally” to Ms Evans and he “respects her wishes” if she does not want to be contacted.
On Wednesday Laurence Fox posted a screenshot on Twitter, also known as X, appearing to suggest a conversation between him and Wootton after the show involving laughing emojis.
Fox, 45, an actor who previously starred in Gosford Park, also claimed that he had conducted a “pre interview” with the channel “so they knew exactly what I intended to say”.
