They just seem to be automated posts from reddit, with no comments.

I never actually read them because I kind of boycotting Reddit and can’t really interact with them anyway, so they just clog up my feed.

Does anyone else find them annoying?

I’ve blocked pretty much all those communities. I’d recommend you do the same.

There are people who find those posts useful and/or comforting, more power to them. I’m squarely in your camp though.

I think I’ll be doing that, but it would be nice to block a whole instance at a user level.

They’re all posted by a single bot account. Block the bot and you see none of the posts

Yeah, I thought the suggest a community community there would be useful (and I nicked the idea) but the bot reads the request, sets up the community then copies posts over from Reddit.

It’s come up elsewhere and pretty much everyone blocks the bot (click through to the profile and you get the option).

It’s early days and we are still figuring everything out but seems like a poor way to add content.

Yeah; having to pick through a flood of zero-effort content in order to find the good stuff is not really what I’m looking for in an aggregator. Will see if I can find that ‘block’ button myself…

I haven’t experienced this so far but i think most of the apps have an option to filter keywords out so you might be able to use that option to hide them from your feed.

There seems to be a lot of low-effort/bot posting on those, and I’m guessing with time different defed lists may be made for communities that don’t want spam.

Yeah, I think that’s the purpose of the whole instance actually!
