Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail.
Not sure how it works on PC, but make sure you find a friend with a decently leveled pawn to help you out. Other players’ pawns can be rented, but the price scales with level and cab get outrageously expensive, but a friend’s pawn is free no matter the level.
Be advised that there is an XP nerf/buff if you rent a pawn that is +25/-25 levels of your own
Star Ocean: The Second Story R makes me feel like I’m 19 again and the QoL changes make it one of the best remakes of a game ever. Like… it’s legit painful to go back and play the OG version now.
I’ve always been rather fond of the books, especially The Lusty Argonian Maid and The Thief of Virtue.
It’s nigh tradition in the FF XIV community that we all eagerly await the Japanese Fan Festival as that’s when they reveal the full trailer for the next expansion and the last of the new classes they’re adding. Every single one since The End of an Era has absolutely SLAPPED.
It didn’t take long (pmuch immediately), but I giggled like a kid once I realized that the subtitle for the first South Park RPG sounds just like Fractured Butthole.
Welp, my interest in this game has definitely… arisen.
It was. I mention in my reply that I actually got to play it.

Unlike the majority of answers here, I actually got to play this game before it got the axe. At Gen Con 200…5? 6? the devs had a booth set up with a playable demo. I swear I spent so much time on that damn thing attendees were coming up to me asking about the game because they thought I was a dev!
Man, I was beyond ready for that game as it was actually really fun, but the rest, as they say…
If you count instances where it’s your fault your lost everything, then Hitman: World of Assassination’s Freelancer Mode on Hardcore.
On Normal, if you die on a mission you’ll lose a good chunk of your money, whatever weapons you brought with you, along with any of your tools. Die on Hardcore and you’ll still lose your weapons, but now you lose all of your money and all of your tools, even the ones you didn’t bring.
I bought a physical copy of Death Stranding on the cheap about two years ago. I haven’t done so much as taken the game out of the case.
