I remember when every company changed the emotes to the water gun. Everyone made fun of them.
Guns should be treated the same way cigarettes are. If you want to reduce their use, you must make them uncool. Branding, packaging and the like should all be disallowed. Advertising should be disallowed. They shouldn’t be in the emojis. Their form should also be limited so that “tacticool” shit is effectively disallowed and guns get treated more like a tool.
Essentially do the same shit we did to smoking.

2001 and 2002 were the years that the EU brought in bans on smoking advertisements, the requirement for cigarette packets to be plain packaging, and the requirement for large visible health warnings on the packets.

Is that emoji an actual AK-47 or is it an akm? I’m really bad at telling the difference.
From a cursory zoom, I think the receiver is milled instead of stamped, so probably 47 over M or it’s some Chinese Type-Whatever produced in between the AK-47 and AKM, but I could definitely be wrong
I’m not sure if I can tell receiver details at that resolution, but a better giveaway is the stock - the 47 has its stock attached at an angle to the receiver (and the receiver itself has an angled rear end), with a metal bit inbetween, while the AKM has a nice right angle
(this might also be the exact image used for the emoji)
there’s also a difference in the pistol grips (a similar situation with being attached at an angle and there being an extra connecting metal bit), but that’s more difficult to see in a small image
