the [rail]card cannot be used for fares below £12 between 04:00 and 10:00, Monday to Friday. The rule does not apply in July and August

Who even comes up with these rules.

This is for trains… My guess is that it’s for 20-30 year olds that commute by rail

Well that’s bullshit because I’ve been using rail card for taking a train that costs £9 without it.

Come at me Northern Rail, that is if you can get a train to run to where I am, you useless fucks!

Come on Andy, Roll on the Bee Rail Network!

‘A spokesman for Northern said “We are inexcusably greedy and both organisationally and morally corrupt. Our constant quest to trick people so we can punish, prosecute and fine them, at the expense of putting any effort into having more than 50% of our dirty, overcrowded trains actually turning up, means we’re not fit to run a train service and we need to be nationalised immediately”. “Our CEOs and upper management deserve to be ritually executed by being tied to train tracks by a moustache-twirling villain”, he added’.

I might have paraphrased a little bit, but essentially that’s what I heard them say.

I had to claim a refund from Northern after a train was cancelled recently. They took weeks to get in touch, eventually asking me for my address. Another couple of weeks later a cheque arrived in the post. Like it’s fucking 1950.

About £20, not really worth the effort but that’s how they get ya!

You can use this railcard on trains between two hours (we’ll tell you which on the day) but only during periods where phases of the moon are alphabetically perpendicular to the number of days remaining in the month and when the temperature at sea level near a place you’ve never been to is equivalent to the sum of three primes.

This is from Northern. The last time I travelled on their trains a group of kids were racially abusing passengers and throwing coins at people as well as setting off fire extinguishers in the carriage. The ticket collector guard ran and hid with the driver and left it for us to deal with.

Train operating companies, who have powers to take out private prosecutions,

Very normal thing for train companies, nothing to see here

Because he’s not being fined £1.90 but probably somewhere in the vicinity of £500, and will now have it on his criminal record forever, similar to what happened to this man:

      https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GZYx7QAXYAAM-y9?format=png&name=small

From the article, had you read it:

Mr Williamson said he could not believe an “innocent mistake over a confusing and opaque rule that only saved me £1.90, will lead to a punishment of hundreds of pounds and a criminal record”.

UK train Corpos are some of the worst racketeering cunts on the planet with weird bullshit rules like this and this is after you consider that our transport costs like it’s in Geneva but runs like it’s in Karachi.

They stipulate the card cannot be used for fares below £12 between 04:00 and 10:00, Monday to Friday.

The rule does not apply in July and August, when Mr Williamson used his railcard on several similar journeys without falling foul of the rules.

This is pretty confusing to be fair - I wouldn’t expect a rule about train tickets that applies during some months and not others. We’re used to conditions about time of day and day of week, but month is a new one for me.

Even the daytime conditions that make the tickets go from £25 to £30 like peak travel times are fucking bullshit when Germany has a daytime £10 pass that includes all busses, trains, Poland and probably a trip to the ISS for good measure.

Federation has inherent delay, on my instance that comment could stay up for a while. It is deleted for me now.
