The final hoorah before they cut off physical media entirely. (edit:spelling)
If it costs less than a couple of years of Disney Plus, this is possibly a good deal!
(I am fully expecting them to charge something stupid like 2 grand)
Close. The Verge’s article has the price listed as $1,500 USD
Their source:
https://www.thewrap.com/disney-legacy-animated-film-collection-100-discs/
$1,499.96 is what it shows.
How many souls, or human appendages must I trade to acquire this set?
Them all - it might be cheaper to summon the Od Gods and see if they can fix you up with a boxset in return for waking them from their eternal sleep and guiding them through the great gulfs of space and time.
Should be 101 but we don’t speak about that one movie.
Do we know the quality of these re-releases?
I presume they are based on the Disney 100 Blu-ray releases as it makes sense to bundle the existing ones together into a fancy set. It may be they’ve addressed any issues that have come up when they were released singly (although I am not aware of any). We may have to wait for reviews but I’ll have a nose around.
“only on walmart.com”… if you want to get a hit of the mouse’s product, you have to support the company that is the ultimate welfare queen.
I think it’s just the exclusive numbered edition that is available from Walmart before it goes on general release:
As part of Disney’s 100th anniversary celebration, a limited number of sets will be available for pre-order only on Walmart.com beginning September 18th, each including a numbered certificate of authenticity. The box set will be coming out on November 14th 2023.
What is unclear is if this is an international release and quite what the numbers it’s limited to are. We’ll update when we know more.
